The Ancient History of Rolls-Royce car


At the stage of Beginning:

The renowned British car manufacturing company named Rolls-Royce Limited was started their journey in May 1904 by the partnership of Charles Rolls and Henry Royce.

The subsequent series of two, three, four and six cylinder cars split the mould for craftsmanship and engineering.  The legendary smoothness car Silver Ghost finished a 14,371 mile virtually non-stop run which was launched in 1907 and creating fable the best car in the world.

The full name of Charles Rolls was Charles Stewart Rolls (27 August 1877 – 12 July 1910) was a mechanical engineer. He studied at Cambridge. He was the first undergraduate to have a car and he started racing.  He started a wholesaler, trading mostly foreign cars. He was searching a supplier for dependable English cars guided to Henry Royce. He was the first aviator to finish a double-crossing of the English Channel and he was died in a crash at the air show in 12 July 1910.

The full name of Sir Henry Royce was Sir Frederick Henry Royce (27 March 1863 – 22 April 1933) was initiating car manufacturer company with Charles Rolls. He was accompanied with tool making company in Leeds in 1887 and later joined the Power and Electric Light Company in London. Henry Royce decided his attention to improve the world best cars and he designed his first engine in 1903. 


The Silver Ghost:

The Silver Ghost

The Silver Ghost was the 40/50 Horse Power (HP) and this was introduced in 1907 but still in production until 1925. The original power by 7,036 CC six cylinder engines increased up to 7,428 CC in 1909.
 The body styles was the Barker Tourer and the Barker surrounded by cabriolet.  The Silver Ghost was built first in Manchester in Royce’s Cooke Street factory but the company transferred to custom built factory for its successive history in Derby, Nightingale Road.
